Infrastructure at the Service of Business: The Next Big Thing

It is almost a year to the day since Tufin’s SecureApp launch which, for the first time, provided enterprises with the ability to manage firewall policies by applications. We are also hot on the heels of Tufin’s recent expansion to ‘Support the Network of Tomorrow’ announcement which combines application connectivity management and network automation across complex, multi-vendor networks, resulting in Security Policy Orchestration.

Whilst the role of networks is moving towards business enablement rather than the traditional infrastructure-oriented approach, applications are becoming increasingly dynamic, especially in union with virtualization, the cloud and mobile devices.

Last week Cisco announced their Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI). Other industry giants such as VMWare with NSX and F5 with Synthesis have also affirmed this shift to an application centric approach over an automated network. The impact of the cloud and virtualization is such that applications require network automation to ensure agility, flexibility, management and visibility, and to this end networks and security must become more flexible and adaptable.

These recent and important initiatives emphasize the paradigm shift that we are experiencing. The manual, siloed and decoupled approach is no longer possible, and instead we need automation, collaboration and integration.

This is Security Policy Orchestration.

While SDN stakeholders hash out standards, the Tufin Orchestration Suite is already delivering value in production environments and enabling businesses to automate their networks from an application centric perspective.

So, the way we see it, these recent announcements close out a good week for some of the major players and strengthen what is already a fantastic year of innovation for Tufin.
