For those who know me, you'll be aware that I don't have time to blog as often as I'd like. However, the launch of SecureApp last month represents much more than a product launch for me and I'd like to share the experience. The move towards application connectivity management demanded that I - together with my partner Reuven Harrison - had to be 100% sure that we were developing the right solution for the market. We knew this decision would affect not only the company, but our customers and channel partners as well. Below is the story about how we brought SecureApp to market.  This is part of a series of posts from Tufin who will share their SecureApp stories and experiences.

The Tufin team, our customers and partners are very important to us and we knew that the addition of SecureApp to our TOS (Tufin Orchestration Suite) was going to be a major milestone for the company and effectively present the market with a completely new paradigm shift in security policy management. We would be able to offer a full, end-to-end suite for the first time in our history, which was, by definition, stepping into the realm of the unknown.

So how could we be completely sure we were bringing the right solution to the market?

In short, we asked the market. Over a year ago we approached 20 of our largest customers who had communicated the need for a completely new way of managing their security policies.  We shared our vision for SecureApp and Tufin Orchestration Suite and described how we saw the market evolving. The reaction was overwhelmingly positive. We had long, intense meetings with our design partners and were transparent about what we were doing and why. They offered us feedback and we changed requirements, functionality and priorities accordingly.

And now, one month after our 'product launch', I look back and acknowledge that the journey was essential. I am very glad that we identified an important, yet unmet market need and developed an innovative solution for it.  To date, the response has been very encouraging, with customers, analysts and the media alike reinforcing our belief that Application Connectivity Management is the next frontier in firewall management. So, whether you have traditional firewalls or next-generation firewalls, you still need a solution to manage application connectivity top-down. In a word:SecureApp.
