  4. Fortinet Championship Did Not Disappoint

Last updated February 15th, 2023 by Steve Yurkunas

It’s not often you can combine a world-class sporting event with an industry-leading Cybersecurity summit, but the Fortinet Championship week did just that.

As the premier sponsor for the Cybersecurity Summit, Tufin’s CEO Ruvi Kitov delivered an insightful opening keynote around Securing Connectivity in the Cloud. He outlined how today’s “networks” have grown beyond anything we could have imagined just a few years ago where almost all companies are now using LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, SASE, BYOD, and the like, to mitigate risk.

He described that the business of today sees its entire estate as existing on a single ubiquitous “network” plane that is all at once physical, virtual, wired, Wi-Fi, 5G, hybrid, multi-cloud, you name it. It’s all simply seen now as “the network”, and it’s more important than ever to identify and define, who can talk to whom, and what can talk to what.

This past week was about educating the G1000 executives in attendance not only on the latest industry insights around very complex yet common problems, but also allowing those same executives the ability to speak directly to vendor about their very real solutions to these very complex problems.

Congratulations Ken Xie and the entire Fortinet team for a terrific event and to Max Homa the 2021 defending champion for his stirring chip-in on 18 to seal this year’s win.
