Tufin Technologies Wins The 2011 Network Computing Award For
"Network Project Of The Year"
London - April 12, 2011 - Tufin
Technologies, the market-leading provider of Security Lifecycle
Management Solutions, today announced that it has won the Network
Computing Award for 'Network Project of the Year'. Presented
annually, the Network Computing Awards have been set up to
recognize the products and services - and the companies behind
them, which have most impressed the readers of the UK's longest
established computer networking publication.
The network project submitted for the award was for the work
that Tufin and Nebulas, a leading UK network security reseller, had
implemented at Virgin Media to enhance organizational security,
reduce network downtime and automate the security team's day-to-day
tasks through a powerful firewall operations management solution.
The project was a huge success for Virgin Media, who were able to
improve firewall performance by 15% and slash management time and
costs by 30%.
This project with Virgin Media is all too familiar to so many
companies faced with decade-old network security infrastructure and
rule bases that are too large to run or maintain - all having a
negative effect on both performance and security.
Colin Miles, Head of Technical Services at Virgin Media said
"Refreshing our ageing firewall estate was a high priority. Because
so much of our infrastructure was acquired and the original
architects and documentation were long gone, we had a very limited
knowledge of how the firewall rules bases had been built." Colin
adds, "Thanks to Tufin SecureTrack we were able to smoothly migrate
to new firewalls and up-to-date software while eliminating unused
and redundant rules. I estimate that it's given my team back about
30% of their day. I am therefore delighted that we have won this
award as it's been an all-round team effort with real results
recognized."
These were the needs that were met by the Tufin solution:
- Network security manpower boosted by 30% through removing major
instability issues
- Improving response times across the organization by
rationalizing firewall rulebase's
- Enabling of network team to focus on more strategic tasks
- Firewall CPU and memory performance enhanced by 15% giving
improved operational continuity
- Network security boosted by installation of more up-to-date
firewall software
- Optimized firewall performance enabling Virgin Media to adapt
with maximum efficiency to changing requirements in months and
years ahead
Ruvi Kitov, CEO and Co-Founder of Tufin said "This award is
significant for us because as Colin says it's a true team effort.
We work very closely with our clients to develop the product around
their needs. This achievement also highlights the rapid return on
investment that can be achieved from Security Lifecycle Management
solutions, and validates our ability to help our customers more
securely and efficiently manage firewalls and other network
infrastructure."
Tufin has provided over 700 customers with the ability to
automate critical but highly error-prone manual network security
processes, which in turn has enabled them to cost-effectively
manage their network security policy, comply with regulatory
standards, and minimize IT risks. Tufin's products slash the time
and cost of managing these processes by more than half - delivering
a compelling value proposition in a fast-growing industry.
